EmoType-Zero: Adaptive Fonts to Render the Speech Emotion

EmoType-Zero translates emotional cues in speech into expressive typography through geometry, texture, and motion. A co-design study with nine participants informed the design space, followed by an evaluation with 25 participants. Results reveal a trade-off between emotional fidelity and text legibility, with subtle geometric changes preferred for everyday messaging.
